An illegal immigrant semi-truck driver was recently released from jail on a $100,000 bond after being charged with killing a 29-year-old husband and father in a major vehicle crash in Washington state.
According to Fox News, Kamalpreet Singh, an illegal immigrant from India, was released from the King County jail on a $100,000 bond. The outlet noted that it was not immediately clear whether the jail ignored a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer that had been lodged against the illegal immigrant.
The Post Millennial reported that Singh was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide after allegedly causing a three-vehicle crash on Thursday on State Route 167 in Auburn, Washington. The outlet noted that the crash resulted in the death of 29-year-old Robert B. Pearson, who has been identified as a husband and father.
According to Bill Melugin, a Fox News correspondent, Singh was arrested by U.S. Patrol officials in Lukeville, Arizona, after illegally entering the United States on December 24, 2023; however, he was ultimately released into the United States under former President Joe Biden’s administration. Melugin reported that Singh faces charges for vehicular homicide following last week’s fatal crash.

The Post Millennial reported that a probable cause statement obtained by The Air Hoffman Show shows that Washington State Patrol troopers claim Singh did not attempt to brake or evade the fatal collision and that he attempted to falsify the electronic logbook to include a co-driver who was not present in the vehicle. The probable cause statement also documented “pings” and missing mileage entries that could point to the electronic logbook malfunctioning or being disconnected or altered prior to the crash.
According to Radio host Ari Hoffman, Singh was given a commercial driver’s license by California despite illegally entering and residing in the United States.
In a statement to Fox News, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin slammed the Biden administration for allowing Singh to enter the country and Washington’s sanctuary state policies for allowing the illegal immigrant to be released.
“These demented and dangerous sanctuary policies have deadly consequences,” McLaughlin stated. “Robert Pearson would still be alive today if the Biden Administration hadn’t released this illegal alien into our country. How many more Americans have to be killed before Democrat politicians start to put the public’s safety ahead of politics?”
