Two Iowa National Guard troops were killed on Saturday after an ISIS terrorist opened fire in Palmyra, Syria. An American civilian translator was also killed in the attack and three more US troops were wounded, officials said.

“The savage who perpetrated this attack was killed by partner forces,” War Secretary Pete Hegseth wrote on X. “Let it be known, if you target Americans — anywhere in the world — you will spend the rest of your brief, anxious life knowing the United States will hunt you, find you, and ruthlessly kill you.”
