A 35-year-old African man has reportedly made a full confession for beating and sexually assaulting a 53-year-old Italian woman at dawn on Nov. 21 in the city of Gallarate, according to media reports. Remarkably, this rape occurred shortly after the Remigration Summit in the city featuring speakers such as Austrian activist Martin Sellner.
Now, the mayor of the city, Andrea Cassani, said the rape is another example of why remigration must happen.
Cassani had refused to back down under pressure from the left to cancel the entire Remigration Summit. Now, he is noting that the African migrant accused of rape did not “flee war†but instead committed a vile act against a defenseless woman in his city. The mayor further pointed to statistics that show Italy’s rape crisis has been brought on by mass immigration.
The African suspect, who is originally from the Gambia, was caught on surveillance camera before and after the crime. He has lived in Italy for 11 years, is married to an Italian woman, works as a mechanic, and has three children.
According to Italian news network Sky Tg24, the African man reportedly targeted the older woman while she was on her way to work in the Cajello district.
Prosecutors say the man admitted to dragging the victim behind a flower bed near a car park and sexually assaulting her in the city of 55,000 people.
Italian police arrived at the suspect’s home and found the African still wearing the clothes seen on the surveillance camera. They also found the victim’s phone next to his apartment.
The suspect confessed to all the main details and crimes in the case to prosecutor Roberto Bonfanti during questioning after he was taken into custody.
Explaining the rape, he reportedly said during his confession: “I had an impulse.â€
Mayor speaks out on migrant violence
The mayor of Gallarate, Andrea Cassani, addressed the attack, saying, “Yesterday, it was not yet known who the culprit was, but everyone had already understood what happened. Now, the rape against one of our fellow citizens was perpetrated by a Gambian — who evidently did not come to Gallarate to pay our pensions or because he was fleeing from some war — but to be supported by us and to rape a woman who could be our mother, our wife.â€
The city recently made the news for hosting the Remigration Summit, which Andrea Cassani allowed to go through in her city despite pressure from the left.
Cassaini is noting that this type of rape is exactly what speakers at the Remigration Summit were talking about. In fact, it is the new reality facing Italy and much of Europe due to mass immigration.
“It all happened a few steps from the Condominium Theater, where a few months ago, young people from all over Europe — worried about the consequences of uncontrolled immigration and the high propensity to crime of these individuals — spoke of remigration,†he said. “It is not racism but statistics: More than 50% of violent crimes are committed by foreigners who are less than 10% of the population in Italy.â€
Just yesterday, Remix News covered the topic of sexual crimes and migration in Italy, showing that foreigners, while only making up 9 percent of the population, commit nearly half of all sexual violence crimes. However, these statistics also do not take into account Italian citizens with a migration background, who may also count towards a significant percentage of “Italians†committing crimes in the data.
The mayor said: “It’s time for all citizens to open their eyes to the consequences of immigration and for politics to also put a stop to this invasion and send these criminals back to their countries.â€
The female victim was treated at Sant’Antonio Abate Hospital in Gallarate, and reportedly was ordered to take 20 days to recover from the rape and assault.
The African man has been charged with assault and a range of sexual crimes.
