WAYLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — Visitors to the Henika District Library in Wayland next weekend can attend Halloween D&D at the Library, an all-ages tabletop roleplaying game experience led by library staff.

"If you think it might be fun, come hang out with us," Abigail Cummings, adult librarian at Henika District Library, said.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 18, gamers and fans of Dungeons & Dragons are encouraged to attend a free, approachable "one-shot" of the popular tabletop role-playing game themed after Halloween.

"(D&D has) been in the zeitgeist recently," Cummings said. "More people are playing now than they used to."

Cummings has led tutorials and other themed one-shot adventures at previous D&D events at Henika District Library. Players without experience are encouraged to attend and learn how to play.

"People from the community can just drop in," Cummings said.

Halloween D&D at the Library is free and open to everyone. No prior registration is required. Interested D&D fans can either bring their own character to portray or select a premade one from Cummings.
