GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — A teenager was killed in a hit-and-run crash while walking on I-196 late Saturday night.
Around 11:50 p.m., troopers with the Michigan State Police were sent to eastbound I-196 near the 44th Street overpass after receiving reports about a crash.
Responding troopers found a Grandville-area 16-year-old boy who had been hit by a vehicle. He is described as a white boy with brown hair, wearing a white T-shirt, gray basketball shorts and white Nike shoes. MSP said he died at the scene. His name has not been released.
Troopers are looking for the driver of the vehicle that hit him. No description of the vehicle has been released.
