ALBION, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was hurt in an early Friday morning shooting in Albion.

Around 1:15 a.m., officers with the Albion Department of Public Safety heard several gunshots coming from the northwest part of Albion. They found several shell casings on W. Broadwell Street near N Albion Street.

Around 1:20 a.m., officers were sent to Boyd Drive, where they found a vehicle that had been shot several times on W. Broadwell Street.

Just after 2 a.m., officers were told that a 23-year-old Albion man had arrived at a hospital in Jackson with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg. The department of public safety said his injuries are not considered fatal.

ADPS said it is receiving very little cooperation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Lazarus at 517.629.7854 or Silent Observer at 517.629.2700.

The shooting remains under investigation.
