KENDALL, Mich. (WOOD) — A man threw multiple pipe bombs at authorities near Gobles on Friday morning, according to deputies.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were at the door of an RV on County Road, with an arrest warrant for the man. It was then the man threw a detonated pipe bomb at them from the other side of the door.

The bomb set the RV on fire, which the man put out. Officials then attempted to use tear gas on the man.

Shortly thereafter, the man left the RV twice and both times threw pipe bombs at officers and members of a SWAT Team that were assisting authorities.

After the second bomb, deputies say they shot the man using non-lethal beanbag rounds. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries and is expected to be jailed after.
