OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An underwater search and recovery team is looking for a man in a lake in northeast Kent County Sunday night, the sheriff’s office said.

A 62-year-old man jumped into the water from a boat to swim on the east side of Wabasis Lake in Oakfield Township near Greenville and disappeared, according to the sheriff’s office.

A person who was with the man looked for him but did not find him. An underwater search and recovery team was on their way to the scene around 7:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies told News 8 they would release more information soon.
